1.0 of 5 stars. They took me to the cleaners on my Audi. Said they found 250 feet of fishing line in the front boot. Which I believe they did, then a phone call later that afternoon was that I needed $4200 worth of…

2.0 of 5 stars. Not sure how to rate these guys... When I took my car there with a breaks light flashing on the dashboard, they told me to take it to the dealer because the car's electronic signals were all screwed up…

Fat City is a Ripoff Garage

I have a 92 BMW 325is. It was running rough, so I brought it to Fat City. A kind blond girl took my car promised an estimate and called me a few days. The estimates varied, but to get my car up to 'working order' the estimates added up to $10,000. Yes, that's correct. The car is worth much less. So I decided on an estimate to get my car going $2,500. I found out it needed (I don't recall the name) but spark plug capacitors (?) over each spark plug wire. All you do to install is unplug the spark plug wire and replace the caps. I declined their generous offer of 'getting to know your car' for $250. Where a mechanic will do what a mechanic is supposed to do for $250 on top of your repair. I also declined a steam clean for $300. After I left my car there, I called BMW. Here's the funny part. They said, didn't you just call from Fat City? And I said nothing. They said, yeah the parts are still $80 each. Well, Fat City quoted me $240 each. THAT'S WITHOUT LABOR! Remember, they are easy to install. So its a 6 cylinder so my parts cost is now $1,440 (dealer price is $480). I called Fat City told them to freeze all work and they said we will have to bill you for the work we have into it. They billed me $750 to get my car out (with no work done). I bought the parts and did it in ? hr. If you don't like my message, do this one little ol' thing for me. After you get your repair bill back, call the dealer and find out how much the part costs (or go on the web). AVOID!!!

1.0 of 5 stars. If you're going to pay their outrageous hourly & parts prices & have incompetent service, then you might as well go to the dealer. I had them diagnose (not repair) my Audi because I was close by &…

Go to Fat City -- it isn't even worth it to not go.

I've had my bmw into Fat City for service twice now...if you care about details, and not worrying that you're being taken for a ride by some heavy handed wrench flunky, this is the place. The mechanics will...

Great German Car Shop

I'm very picky and brought my 528 to Fat City when I moved here from California. This is a great, reliable, honest place to bring your BMW. Great customer service and spot on maintainence.
